A Creative and inspiring head office
When Walters Group outgrew their existing office space, they set out to build a new head office that could house all of their employees in one space. They designed a two storey building that centred around a feature staircase.
The building, which has an industrial feel with an exposed structure, used Composite TotalJoist for the flooring system to tie into the structural steel frame. Detailed planning and coordination was needed to support the building design.

Post and Beam Construction
Structural Steel Buildings have high degree of tolerance so we needed to meet high tolerance requirements.
Custom Roof Joists
We still provided a top cord bearing solution, but with a custom shoe in order to make the top of the shoe and the top of the joist match for easier deck installation.
Coordination of Trades
We needed to coordinate with architectural and mechanical plans due to significant penetration of HVAC systems. We also had to coordinate with structural steel detailing to avoid interferences, using REVIT to interact with their software to identify challenges ahead of time.
