The Ridge at Emory University - Phase 2

Phase 2 of The Ridge at Emory University is a 212,920 SF, 7 story graduate and professional student housing development featuring studio, one, and two-bedroom units, slated to open Summer 2027.

The design called for open bays and flexible floor layouts that could support the long-term planning and easy redesign down the road, without the need for a dense column grid to get in the way. COMSLAB’s long-span capability paired with Diversakore’s structural framing system solved this by clearing our unnecessary columns while still meeting fire rating requirements without added drywall or spray fireproofing.

The result was a major gain in schedule efficiency: fewer trades on site, faster floor-to-floor cycle, and a simplified erection sequence compared to traditional precast or cast-in-place systems. The open bay layout also gave the design team flexibility for future unit reconfiguration, adding long-term value for the owner beyond just the initial build.
